Self-Care for Teaching Staff

Do you work in a teaching role? You may find that the stresses of your role can sometimes cause you to feel overwhelmed or unwell, either physically or mentally. You may already be aware of the concept of self-care, but are unsure about how best to practice it or how you can help yourself improve your level of self-care. You may want to be able to improve student outcomes by improving your own physical and mental health.

How will this course help me?

This course aims to teach you about what self-care is (and what it isn’t) and provide you with the skills and knowledge to make an effective self-care plan. You will learn a variety of theories and be given a range of resources to help you learn more about self-care, and put into practice what you have learnt.

This course is aimed at teaching staff.

The examples and activities given in the course are directly related to teaching staff and will guide participants to think about how best to use relevant skills within their roles.

The course requires self-directed learning. You do not need to purchase any books or journals to complete this course, but there is a section on recommended reading at the end of the course should you wish to continue learning more.


Upon completion of this course, you will be awarded a certificate for 2 CPD hours.
